Beef and Bell Pepper Tacos

Tacos de Alambre - Bell Pepper & Beef Tacos.

Beer and potatoes are very popular in Germany; almost every Mexican would connect this two products with German culture. However when I've moved to Germany, I´ve also discovered that Bell Peppers are maybe at the same level of popularity. German people use Bell Peppers (usually the red one) to season almost anything, to marinade meat, in sausages or hams and even some people eat it as if it were an apple.

In Mexico green bell pepper is the base of the Taco de Alambre, a classic in the taco culture in Mexico. This authentic Mexican recipe is incredibly easy to prepare because the ingredients can be found (I guess) in most supermarkets around the world, for sure in Germany and most English-Speaking countries.

Tacos de Alambre
  1. Marinate the meat with lime or lemon juice, salt and pepper (you can do it the night before).
  2. Cut in slices the Paprika and onion and cook them in a pan with some oil.
  3. Season it with salt and pepper
  4. Grill the meat in a different pan or skillet for few minutes, just enough so that its easy to cut it in small pieces.
  5. After you cut the meat, add it to the pan with the paprika and onion and combine.
  6. Add the cheese and combine until cheese melts.
  7. Now its time to warm up the tortillas and make the tacos.
